Lenke Szilágyi is a photographer, a significant figure of the Hungarian contemporary art scene. She graduated in photography from the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Budapest in 1980. Later on she worked as a photographer for the Educational Techniques Centre of the Kossuth Lajos University of Sciences, and then from 1985, for feature film shoots and theatre performances. She has also documented continuously for the archive of the Hungarian Theatre Institute. Between 1987 and 1991, she was a member of the Studio of Young Photographers (FFS). From 1990 until 2010, she worked for the journal, Beszélő. She made her untitled experimental film in the Balázs Béla Studio in 1986.
