Sándor Kardos is one of the key figures of contemporary Hungarian avant-garde film. He works as a cinematographer, film director and photographer. He is a board member of the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers (HSC). He graduated from Eötvös Lóránd University in 1969 and from University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest as a cinematographer in 1973. From the late seventies he has been working for the Hungarian Television as a director and cinematographer. He has been experimenting with slitcam techniques since the early 2000’s. He was awarded several prestigious prizes, among them the Balázs Béla-Award in 1986.
